Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, and analyze Eos commercial BESS and third-party products both on-site and remotely.

• Utilize Field Service and Work Order Management tools to promptly and accurately retrieve and update information.

• Prepare reports, train customers, and address inquiries regarding system functionality and performance.

• Acquire in-depth knowledge of Eos commercial products along with third-party products.

• Execute acceptance and performance testing, troubleshooting, installation, startups, shutdowns, commissioning, and turnarounds of BESS.

• Work with high-voltage DC electricity, three-phase power, and relevant software related to BESS and third-party products.

• Review and resolve warranty claims while assisting customers with issues not covered by warranty.

• Provide support services and maintenance for existing systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

• A minimum of one to three (1-3) years of field experience in Electrical/Electronics/Power electronics or network communications is recommended.

• Trade or vocational college education focused on electrical work, renewable energy, or electronics is preferred.

• Prior experience in the renewable industry, particularly in energy storage, is highly preferred.

• Experience with applied problem-solving methodologies is essential.

• Electrical safety training, such as NFPA70E or equivalent, is required.

• Medium Voltage/Substation experience is an advantage.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with Senior Field Service Technicians and Engineers.

• Proficient computer skills: Windows, Office, programming; experience with PLC and controls is a plus.

• Awareness of safety protocols related to electrical, crane, forklift, and construction work.

• Understanding of DC electrical systems and controls is necessary.

• Proficient in using electrical voltage meters and testing equipment.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, working at field installations for up to 100% of the time for periods of up to three weeks.

• Capability to work at significant heights and in extreme environments, perform repetitive tasks for extended periods, and frequently lift weights of at least 50 pounds.

• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code is essential.
