This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Diagnose and repair injection molding machinery and robotic systems.
• Conduct tests and inspections on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and software components.
• Execute calibrations to enhance equipment efficiency.
• Install both software and hardware components.
• Carry out safety inspections on machinery.
• Train customers on equipment usage and provide guidance on proper operation.
• Oversee customer issue resolution, including the ordering and installation of replacement parts.
• Identify control-system issues and procure necessary replacement parts.
• Formulate structured approaches to machine-related problems and repair or replace parts as needed.
• Educate Service Technicians and customer operators on maintenance practices and safe operation of injection molding systems.
• Liaise with Central Service, Manufacturing, and Parts Center regarding field-related issues.
• Deliver regular written updates to the Service Manager.
• Operate remotely at client locations.
• High School Diploma is essential.
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years in injection molding troubleshooting or processing, or prior experience as a Field Service Injection Molding Technician/Service Engineer.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics for troubleshooting electrical/electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Experience with injection molding machines is necessary.
• A well-rounded skill set in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, computer, and customer training.
• Knowledge and comprehension of the injection molding process.
• Capability to troubleshoot issues in a systematic manner.
• Familiarity with microprocessor programming.
• Understanding of PET, Polypropylene, Polyethylene, Styrene, and other common materials.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a solid customer service focus.
• Ability to approach challenging or dissatisfied customers with tact and professionalism.
• Committed team player with a positive outlook.
• Preference for familiarity with ENGEL machines and robots.
• Proficient in utilizing internal resources effectively to resolve customer concerns.
• Capable of working independently with minimal back-office assistance.
• Valid passport is mandatory.
• A valid driver's license in good standing that includes REAL ID is required.
