Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Diagnose and repair injection molding machines and robotic systems.

• Conduct tests and inspections on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and software components.

• Execute calibrations to enhance equipment functionality.

• Set up both software and hardware installations.

• Carry out safety inspections on equipment.

• Provide training to customers on equipment usage and proper operational procedures.

• Oversee the resolution of customer issues, including the procurement and installation of replacement parts.

• Identify control system malfunctions and arrange for necessary replacement parts.

• Train Service Technicians and customer operators on maintenance routines and safe operational practices.

• Liaise with Central Service, Manufacturing, and Parts Center to address field issues.

• Deliver regular written reports to the Service Manager.

• Travel to customer locations to install and service equipment while offering training and support.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma is mandatory.

• A minimum of 5 years experience in injection molding troubleshooting or processing, or previous work as a Field Service Injection Molding Technician/Service Engineer.

• Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics for troubleshooting electrical/electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.

• Hands-on experience with injection molding machines and expertise in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and computer systems.

• Capability to deliver basic training to customers and employees.

• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the injection molding process.

• Systematic problem-solving skills.

• Familiarity with microprocessor programming.

• Knowledge of common materials such as PET, Polypropylene, Polyethylene, and Styrene.

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Ability to manage challenging or dissatisfied customers with professionalism and diplomacy.

• Team-oriented with a positive outlook.

• Capacity to work independently with limited back-office assistance.

• Valid passport required.

• A driver’s license in good standing that includes REAL ID.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

• Familiarity with ENGEL machines and robots is a plus.
