Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Conduct timely and precise preventative maintenance on various equipment modalities.

• Adhere to Field Modification Instructions and Instrument Service Information bulletins.

• Collaborate with seasoned Field Engineers both onsite and remotely to acquire troubleshooting, repair, and equipment installation skills.

• Assist in the installation of equipment.

• Execute basic troubleshooting and service repairs on assigned equipment.

• Communicate and collaborate with teammates, colleagues, and customers to address issues and ensure follow-up.

• Suggest value-added services to enhance customer efficiency.

• Maintain customer service logs and internal service documentation.

• Order repair parts and oversee cycle times.

• Utilize the GEHC escalation process and work with regional and national support on corrective action plans.

• Act as a member of the account community for key accounts.

• Interact with commercial counterparts, identify sales leads, engage in contract renewals, and support revenue initiatives.

• Develop customer relationships and contribute to customer satisfaction.

• Keep track of competitor information and market trends.

• Independently respond to service calls within one year of employment.

• Handle after-hours emergency service calls during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Adhere to GEHC quality, EHS, compliance, and regulatory standards.


⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participation in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED and four or more years of experience in servicing electronic equipment.

• Proficiency in Web applications and the Microsoft suite of products.

• Successful completion of GEHC's standard background check, which includes a post-offer drug test.

• Adherence to customer access policies, which may include required immunizations and potential additional drug tests or background checks.

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.

• Valid driver's license.

• Capability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. without assistance.

• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for extended periods.

• Capacity to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex/extend neck; and demonstrate good hand and finger dexterity.

• Required vision abilities include color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.

• Willingness to be available after hours or work a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends.

• Compliance with GEHC quality, EHS, regulatory, and applicable legal requirements.
