This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Act as the main technical resource and representative of Emerson for designated customer sites.
• Foster strong customer relationships through regular engagement, responsiveness, and technical knowledge.
• Provide training and technical support on system operations, maintenance, and best practices for troubleshooting.
• Assist in the installation, modification, maintenance, commissioning, startup, and repair of control systems and associated equipment.
• Offer technical advice and suggestions to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Analyze and address technical issues using structured troubleshooting methods and root cause analysis.
• Create, revise, and enhance maintenance procedures, quality processes, and operational practices.
• Support projects by providing engineering assistance, conducting Factory Acceptance Testing, and ensuring successful installation, commissioning, startup, testing, and continuous customer support.
• Recognize opportunities to boost system performance, reliability, and overall effectiveness.
• Keep precise documentation of service activities, technical insights, and customer recommendations.
• Promote safety and ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and procedures.
• Act as Emerson's dedicated local representative for a strategic customer, supporting critical water infrastructure.
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related technical discipline, or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience.
• At least three (3) years of experience in engineering, field service, operations, maintenance, automation, or technical support within industrial, utility, manufacturing, water/wastewater, power generation, or similar sectors.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving technical and operational issues in complex systems.
• Experience with or a willingness to acquire skills in leading and implementing engineering solutions for DCS and SCADA projects.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to collaborate efficiently with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Capability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and achieve results in a customer-centric environment.
• Reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the Southeast Virginia, Hampton Roads, or Eastern Shore region.
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 75% of the time.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship will not be available now or in the future.
• Preferred: Experience with DCS, PLC, or industrial automation systems.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Ladder Logic, SAMA diagrams, and P&ID drawings.
• Preferred: Background in power generation, water treatment, wastewater treatment, or other critical infrastructure industries.
• Preferred: Knowledge of process control systems, instrumentation, and industrial networking technologies.
• Preferred: Previous experience in customer-facing field engineering, commissioning, startup, or technical service roles.
