This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Diagnose and repair injection molding machines and robotic systems.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and software elements.
• Execute calibrations to enhance equipment functionality.
• Carry out installations of both software and hardware components.
• Perform safety inspections on machinery.
• Train customers on equipment usage and guide them on correct operational procedures.
• Oversee the resolution of customer inquiries, including the ordering and installation of replacement components.
• Identify control-system issues and procure necessary replacement parts.
• Formulate systematic approaches to machine issues and repair or substitute parts as needed.
• Educate Service Technicians and customer operators on the maintenance and safe use of injection molding systems.
• Liaise with Central Service, Manufacturing, and Parts Center to address field-related challenges.
• Compile regular written updates for the Service Manager.
• Operate remotely at client locations.
• High School Diploma is mandatory.
• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years in injection molding troubleshooting or processing, or previous experience as a Field Service Injection Molding Technician/Service Engineer.
• Proficient in interpreting blueprints and schematics for troubleshooting electrical/electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with injection molding machines is essential.
• Well-rounded expertise in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and computer systems.
• Capability to deliver basic training to customers and staff.
• Comprehensive understanding of the injection molding process.
• Systematic problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of microprocessor programming.
• Understanding of materials such as PET, Polypropylene, Polyethylene, Styrene, and other standard materials.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service orientation.
• Aptitude for managing challenging or dissatisfied customers with tact and diplomacy.
• Preference for familiarity with ENGEL machines and robots.
• Ability to work independently with limited back-office assistance.
• A valid passport is required.
• A valid driver's license in good standing, including REAL-ID, is necessary.
