Field Service Engineer – Level 2

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Execute timely and precise preventive maintenance on medical devices within hospitals or healthcare systems.

• Diagnose, repair, and install equipment of moderate complexity.

• Spearhead customer communications and act as the escalation point for customer concerns, including installations.

• Manage customer issues from initial dispatch or identification through to resolution.

• Collaborate with colleagues to identify suitable solutions for customers.

• Oversee installations, validations, maintenance, and service repairs on assigned equipment.

• Assist in service sales, focusing on contract and on-demand revenue growth.

• Cultivate customer relationships and ensure prompt communication, resolution, and follow-up.

• Adhere to company policies, procedures, hospital protocols, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.

• Record all daily work performed, including debriefing, metrics, and parts ordering.

• Suggest value-added services that enable customers to operate more efficiently.

• Utilize GE HealthCare escalation processes and collaborate with regional and national support to execute corrective action plans.

• Provide support primarily for the Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, and Southwest Michigan service region, with a focus on MR assistance.


⛳️ Requirements

• Associate degree in a relevant field or equivalent military training with 4 years of experience in servicing electronic equipment, or a high school diploma/GED with 6 years of pertinent experience.

• Technical expertise in MR, encompassing troubleshooting, repair, and installation.

• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.

• Familiarity with web applications and the Microsoft suite of products.

• Legal authorization to work in the United States is mandatory.

• The employer will not sponsor employment visas.

• Availability for after-hours work and/or participation in a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends.

• Capability to manage multiple competing priorities while ensuring customer satisfaction.

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. without assistance.

• Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, climbing, crouching or squatting, kneeling or crawling, and the ability to sit and stand for extended periods are required.

• Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex or extend neck; and demonstrate good hand and finger dexterity.

• Specific vision abilities may include color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.

• Must successfully pass a drug screening, as applicable.
