Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Execute field service tasks at customer locations

• Install and maintain injection molding machinery

• Diagnose and repair injection molding machines and robotic systems

• Test and evaluate mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and software components

• Adjust equipment to enhance operational efficiency

• Carry out software and hardware setups

• Perform safety inspections on machinery

• Instruct customers on equipment usage and proper operation

• Oversee the resolution of customer issues, including the procurement and installation of replacement parts

• Identify control system malfunctions and devise structured repair strategies

• Train Service Technicians and customer operators on maintenance and safe usage

• Coordinate with Central Service, Manufacturing, and Parts Center teams to address field issues

• Provide regular written updates to the Service Manager

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma is mandatory

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred

• Over 5 years of experience in injection molding troubleshooting or processing, or previous experience as a Field Service Injection Molding Technician/Service Engineer

• Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics for diagnosing electrical/electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems

• Familiarity with injection molding machinery

• Comprehensive electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and computing skills

• Capability to provide basic training to customers and staff

• Understanding of the injection molding process

• Systematic troubleshooting abilities

• Knowledge of microprocessor programming

• Familiarity with PET, Polypropylene, Polyethylene, Styrene, and other common materials

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong focus on customer service

• Ability to manage challenging or dissatisfied customers with professionalism and tact

• Committed team player with a positive outlook

• Preferred experience with ENGEL machines and robots

• Efficient use of internal resources to address customer concerns

• Capability to work autonomously with limited back-office assistance

• Valid passport is necessary

• A valid driver's license in good standing, including REAL ID, is required
