Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical support to clients throughout the lifespan of a machine.

• Guide and physically assist customers in diagnosing issues related to equipment performance.

• Propose innovative solutions to enhance customer efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

• Travel to client sites to install, initiate, maintain, and troubleshoot labeling machines.

• Educate customer operators and technicians on system setup, operation, changeover, and maintenance.

• Ensure customers have the necessary repair parts and sufficient spare component inventory.

• Compile and submit comprehensive trip reports detailing identified issues, actions taken, and suggested next steps.

• Offer technical assistance via phone and remote connections.

• Provide service to customers on the West Coast.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate Degree in a related technical field (mechanical and electrical) or 6 years of relevant/equivalent experience in the packaging sector.

• A minimum of 3 years in custom machine manufacturing or mechanical repair/maintenance.

• Strong understanding of mechanical/electrical technical applications, particularly PLCs, servo-driven motors, and controls.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting complex engineering designs, including wiring diagrams.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.

• Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.

• Effective problem-solving skills and independent decision-making.

• Willingness to travel 85% of the time and work overtime as necessary.

• Ability to work autonomously, maintain a positive demeanor, and collaborate effectively with all levels of management and operators.
