This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Diagnose and repair injection molding machines and robotic systems.
• Carry out tests and inspections on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and software components.
• Execute calibrations to enhance equipment performance.
• Install software and hardware as needed.
• Conduct safety assessments on equipment.
• Provide training to customers on equipment usage and proper operational procedures.
• Oversee the resolution of customer issues, which includes ordering and installing replacement parts.
• Identify control-system issues and devise systematic approaches to machine repairs.
• Train Service Technicians and customer operators on maintenance and safe practices for injection molding systems.
• Collaborate with Central Service, Manufacturing, and the Parts Center to address field issues.
• Submit regular written reports to the Service Manager.
• Work remotely at customer locations to install and service equipment while offering training and support.
• High School Diploma is mandatory.
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Over 5 years of experience in injection molding troubleshooting or processing, or prior work as a Field Service Injection Molding Technician/Service Engineer.
• Familiarity with blueprints and schematics for troubleshooting electrical/electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Hands-on experience with injection molding machines.
• Well-developed electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and computer skills.
• Capability to provide basic training to customers and staff.
• Understanding of the injection molding process is essential.
• Ability to systematically troubleshoot issues.
• Knowledge of microprocessor programming.
• Familiarity with PET, Polypropylene, Polyethylene, Styrene, and other common materials.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service focus.
• Ability to manage interactions with difficult or dissatisfied customers with professionalism and tact.
• Committed team player with a positive demeanor.
• Preferred familiarity with ENGEL machines and robotics.
• Efficient resource utilization to resolve customer issues is essential.
• Ability to work independently with limited back-office support.
• A valid passport is required.
• A valid driver's license in good standing that includes REAL-ID is necessary.
