Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver both on-site and remote technical assistance for BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems

• Identify, service, and resolve hardware and software challenges

• Execute preventive maintenance initiatives

• Conduct installations, repairs, and calibrations

• Offer support for sales activities

• Keep precise records of service tasks and inventory

• Engage in continuous training and professional growth

• Responsibly manage company assets, including vehicles, tools, and inventory

• Travel daily to client locations within a designated territory

• Participate in after-hours rotations during weekends and evenings

• Assist healthcare facilities utilizing BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems

⛳️ Requirements

• Applicants should live within a 30-mile radius of the job's primary location - Lubbock/Amarillo TX

• Up to 5% overnight travel may be necessary

• Experience in an on-call role within a customer-facing/field service context

• 3-5 years of cumulative Hardware/Software/IT expertise

• Familiarity with computer electronics, Windows OS, and networking

• CompTIA A+ Certification required

• Experience in servicing/repairing medical or electromechanical devices

• Customer Support Certification is a plus

• Valid driver's license that complies with BD's auto safety standards

• An Associate Degree in Healthcare Technology is preferred

• Prior experience as a hospital pharmacy technician or in a hospital Bio-Med setting is advantageous

• Experience or training in a customer support center is preferred

• Military Bio-Med experience is also preferred

• Experience in Automated Teller Machine (ATM) service is preferred

• Capability to work autonomously with minimal oversight

• Strong mechanical, computer, verbal, written, and time management abilities

• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 70 lbs. from floor to chest level

• Proficient with both powered tools (such as drills and screwdrivers) and manual tools

• Ability to sit, kneel, squat, bend, and stand repetitively during 8-10 hour shifts

• Capacity to push and pull heavy items on casters

• Perform fine motor tasks while reaching for extended periods

• Carry a 40 lb. pack on back or shoulder for up to 1 hour

• Drive for up to 6 hours, including in challenging weather conditions

• Climb portable ladders and step stools as needed

• Passing a respirator fit test and medical evaluation may be necessary for specific service duties
