This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Collaborate on-site with clients to pinpoint areas for operational enhancement and resolve challenges.
• Conduct field service activities, including diagnosing technical problems and performing on-site troubleshooting within authorized zones.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, expansions, upgrades, retrofits, end-of-life services, and replacements.
• Assist in the certification process of Associate Field Service Technicians and Field Service Technicians.
• Mentor technicians and oversee intricate site operations.
• Serve as trainers for team members and clients when necessary.
• Compile material lists for service tasks and ensure that materials, components, and equipment adhere to quality standards and are readily available.
• Proactively detect potential equipment malfunctions and suggest corrective measures.
• Foster and sustain positive relationships with customers.
• Recognize potential new sales prospects and communicate these internally.
• Identify possibilities for product and quality enhancements and offer recommendations to management.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and uphold safe working and environmental practices.
• Report unsafe practices and incidents.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with 4+ years of experience servicing critical power equipment, OR an Associate’s Degree in electrical technology with 6+ years of experience in the same field, OR a High School Diploma/GED with equivalent work and/or military experience (8+ years) in servicing critical power equipment.
• Advanced proficiency in interacting and communicating (both written and verbal) with various levels within the organization.
• Strong collaborative skills.
• High-level proficiency in using Microsoft Office products.
• Moderate capability in project management using MS Project or Excel.
• Advanced competency in drafting test plans and reports that detail test outcomes.
• Highly organized and able to meet administrative deadlines.
• Candidates must possess work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the US.
