Field Service Mechanical Engineer – Turbomachinery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Implement the installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and maintenance of rotating machinery and related auxiliaries.

• Conduct precise mechanical tasks, including alignment, leveling, torquing, dimensional evaluations, and assembly/disassembly.

• Identify mechanical problems and work collaboratively with technical support teams to determine corrective measures.

• Manage customer interactions, site planning, daily coordination, and oversight of craft labor/subcontractors.

• Create Field Service Reports, daily logs, punch lists, and necessary technical documentation.

• Ensure adherence to QHSE standards, JSAs, toolbox talks, LOTO, and Permit-to-Work procedures.

• Carry out inspections, troubleshooting, alignment, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and overhauls for compressors, gas turbines, and steam turbines.

• Serve as the on-site technical lead at customer locations in oilfield, power generation, and industrial environments.


⛳️ Requirements

• Technical diploma required.

• Minimum of five years of field experience with gas turbines, compressors, or other rotating equipment in installation, inspections, or maintenance roles.

• Expertise in one or more technologies related to compressors, heavy-duty gas turbines, aeroderivative gas turbines, or steam turbines.

• Capability to interpret mechanical schematics and adhere to OEM procedures.

• Skilled in using precision tools such as laser alignment systems, borescopes, micrometers, and dial indicators.

• Experience with executing upgrades, NICs/TILs, or mechanical modifications.

• Excellent customer service, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to operate independently, analyze complex problems, and provide technical leadership with minimal oversight.

• Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental practices, along with quality standards.

• Willingness and ability to travel at least 70%, including international and offshore travel, without geographic limitations.

• Current or previous TWIC card or eligibility to obtain one.

• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.

• Preferred familiarity with optical or laser alignment systems, basic electrical testing, or in-situ winding repairs and rewinds.

• Candidates must reside in or near the specified locations.
