This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, maintain, and qualify Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry instrumentation.
• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to enhance customer productivity and maximize instrument uptime.
• Provide outstanding technical support and foster trusted relationships with customers.
• Manage service schedules, maintain documentation, and efficiently close work orders using company systems.
• Complete necessary product training and uphold technical certifications.
• Adhere to safety protocols while working in customer laboratory environments, following both company and customer safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with Service colleagues to offer technical assistance and share expertise.
• Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific in a professional manner during customer interactions.
• Support customers throughout Western Canada through daily field travel and occasional overnight trips.
• Engage in initial and continuous technical training in the United States.
• Diploma, Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in Chemistry, Electronics, Engineering Technology, Physical Sciences, or a related technical field.
• Over 5 years of field service experience supporting analytical instrumentation or equivalent technical background.
• Proficiency in both Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry instrumentation.
• Hands-on service experience with at least three relevant technologies is highly preferred.
• Strong skills in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and problem-solving.
• Exceptional customer service, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Capability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic field environment.
• Professional proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
• Strong commitment to safety in customer laboratory settings.
• Valid Canadian driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance and regularly transport service tools and equipment.
• Frequent travel across Canada and regular overnight travel is required.
• Eligibility for international travel, including to the United States.
• Capacity to obtain and maintain necessary travel documentation, including a valid passport.
• Must already possess legal authorization to work in Canada; visa sponsorship and international relocation assistance are not provided.
• Experience in laboratory or bench chemistry is considered an asset.
