
Field Service Engineer III – Analytical Instrumentation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, maintain, and qualify Chromatography and Trace Elemental instrumentation.
• Execute preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to enhance customer productivity and ensure instrument uptime.
• Provide technical support and foster trusted relationships with customers.
• Oversee service schedules, complete necessary documentation, and finalize work orders using company systems.
• Fulfill required product training and maintain all relevant technical certifications.
• Adhere to safety protocols while working in customer laboratory environments, following both company and customer safety standards.
• Collaborate with team members across the Service organization to deliver technical support and share expertise.
• Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific with professionalism in all customer interactions.
• Assist customers throughout Greater Montreal, Quebec, and occasionally in Eastern Canada.
• Travel to the United States for initial and ongoing technical training as well as business support.
• Diploma, Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in Chemistry, Electronics, Engineering Technology, Physical Sciences, or a related technical field.
• More than 5 years of field service experience supporting analytical instrumentation or equivalent technical experience.
• Preference for experience with both Chromatography and Trace Elemental instrumentation.
• Hands-on service experience with at least three of the following: Ion Chromatography, Liquid Chromatography, ICP-OES, and ICP-MS is preferred.
• Strong skills in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and problem-solving.
• Required professional proficiency in both spoken and written French and English.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic field environment.
• Strong commitment to safety within customer laboratory settings.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance and frequently transport service tools and equipment.
• Willingness to travel frequently throughout Quebec and occasionally for overnight trips.
• Eligibility for international travel, including to the United States.
• Ability to obtain and maintain essential travel documentation, including a valid passport.
• Must already possess legal authorization to work in Canada; visa sponsorship and international relocation assistance are not available.
