Field Service Engineer II – Semiconductor Equipment

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Install advanced equipment on-site and adhere to testing protocols to ensure precise functionality.

• Perform scheduled maintenance visits at customer locations.

• Troubleshoot and repair equipment for clients and other field staff.

• Cultivate positive relationships with customers, system users, and company personnel.

• Travel frequently, often on short notice, to customer sites to address issues or assist other field service staff.

• Complete and submit reports on field service activities.

• Educate customers and users on system maintenance procedures.

• Provide insights to product quality teams.

• Update and amend Thermo Fisher system documentation as necessary.

• Contribute to reports by identifying and isolating existing system issues.

• Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for training sessions.

• Deliver services for SEM, TEM, FIB, and comparable analytical and scientific instruments in research, industrial, and healthcare environments.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.

• Over 3 years of practical technical experience with electronic systems, including the installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibration of advanced analysis tools such as SEM, TEM, FIB, or similar equipment.

• In-depth understanding and significant experience in diagnosing and repairing ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems, or equivalent technologies.

• Professional proficiency in English.

• Proven history of successfully repairing complex systems and subsystems down to the component level.

• Familiarity with MS DOS and Windows software environments.

• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics.

• Knowledge of UHV phenomena and associated technologies.

• Capability to obtain a valid passport and travel domestically and internationally as needed.

• Possession of a valid driver's license.

• Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Some level of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.

• Ability to lift 40 lbs. without assistance.
