This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas, +1 more state.
• Assemble, install, repair, test, calibrate, and maintain electromechanical instrumentation and systems supported by TDX.
• Inspect and test electronic and mechanical components against drawing tolerances and written specifications.
• Deliver high-quality and prompt service and repairs to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Conduct equipment installation, maintenance, service repairs, preventative maintenance, and field upgrade modifications.
• Order and manage repair parts and their cycle times effectively.
• Maintain customer service logs alongside internal service records.
• Communicate with customers to ensure issues are resolved and follow up as necessary.
• Maintain and calibrate tools and testing equipment.
• Comply with Health and Human Services, environmental health and safety, and other regulatory requirements.
• Utilize internal processes to address customer service delivery challenges and perform root cause analysis.
• Travel a minimum of 75% of the time to any required covered region.
• Independently schedule planned maintenance and on-demand services.
• Troubleshoot on-site and validate root causes identified by technical specialists.
• Develop extensive technical knowledge of One Lambda (TDX) equipment.
• Provide field responses supporting One Lambda automation.
• Collaborate with customers, sales personnel, product specialists, customer support, vendors, and regulatory and quality-control teams.
• Define and implement work schedules while adhering to budget guidelines.
• Foster professional relationships with customers and the sales team.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check, including drug screening.
• Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred, or 3+ years of field equipment service experience.
• Familiarity with and prior experience in Tecan automation hardware/software is preferred.
• Hands-on experience in maintaining, calibrating, and repairing electromechanical medical devices.
• Ability to read and utilize schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience in reading, understanding, and executing written and/or verbal assembly, test, and inspection procedures.
• Knowledge of bench-top electromechanical assembly, problem-solving, repair, and testing techniques.
• Proficient in soldering.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable using Windows 7 and Windows 10 operating systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional.
• Familiarity with HLA laboratories and testing procedures.
• Applied knowledge of automated equipment systems and precision mechanically controlled motion systems.
• Understanding of mechanics, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics.
• Ability to exercise independent discretion and sound judgment.
• Capability to plan and prioritize work consistently and reliably.
• Flexibility to reschedule planned services in order to prioritize ad hoc service calls.
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive laboratory and business information.
• Proficient in meticulous computer data entry.
• Ability to establish and sustain effective working relationships.
• Willingness to travel at least two or more times per month.
• Capability to lift 50–75 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to work with protective gloves and potentially biohazardous materials and chemical reagents.
• Proficient in using standard hand tools and light-duty power tools.
