This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Install, conduct preventive maintenance on, troubleshoot, and repair Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry equipment at client laboratories.
• Manage personal inventory of parts and complete service tasks efficiently.
• Utilize service ticket management software to complete service reports.
• Educate customers on the use of equipment and software.
• Facilitate communication between customers and the company to ensure effective service delivery.
• Participate in factory-sponsored technical and service training programs.
• Collaborate with Service and Sales teams.
• Analyze customer data and execute factory protocols to troubleshoot instrumentation issues.
• Relay diagnostic information to engineering, factory, field service, management, and other staff to expedite repairs.
• Accurately complete service reports, expense reports, and other administrative tasks on time.
• Travel up to 75% within the designated territory, primarily from San Francisco to Monterey, with occasional coverage in the East Bay.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on technical experience in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing Chromatography or Mass Spectrometer equipment.
• Proficient in electronics and mechanical troubleshooting skills, including component-level diagnostics.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics effectively.
• Experience with ultra-high vacuum systems and high voltage equipment is preferred.
• Proven experience documenting service activities and generating detailed reports.
• Capability to train and assist customers in operating equipment.
• Commitment to safety protocols and quality standards.
• Track record of achieving customer satisfaction goals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for customer service.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Outstanding problem-solving abilities and the ability to work independently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and service management software.
• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various laboratory settings.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
