Field Service Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Conduct installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance on laboratory instruments within the designated Southeast region.

• Deliver on-site instrument installations, upgrades, updates, repairs, and scheduled maintenance services.

• Engage professionally with customers to troubleshoot technical issues and pinpoint areas for enhancing their operations.

• Meet defined revenue objectives while ensuring customer satisfaction through instrument repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance.

• Propose and finalize sales of service contracts and additional service offerings.

• Work collaboratively with internal teams to address customer concerns and enhance processes.

• Complete submissions for Remote Service Dispatch, Escalation, Field Problem Report, and Field Service Report.

• Oversee spare parts ordering, usage, returns, physical inventory counts, and car stock management.

• Implement Qualification and Validation products at client locations.

• Maintain technical expertise through training, staff meetings, and staying updated on products, markets, customers, and competitors.

• Manage travel expenses and adhere to company travel policies and guidelines.

• Undertake additional related responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred in engineering, biology, chemistry, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience and knowledge.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a related science, engineering, and/or customer-facing position.

• Proficient in effective questioning to uncover customer needs.

• Capability to exercise judgment in prioritizing work and determining subsequent steps.

• Ability to operate with minimal supervision.

• Positively influence the team environment.

• Adapt swiftly to change while providing constructive feedback.

• Experience in a clinical, diagnostics, and/or other regulated settings is preferred.

• Aptitude for learning and comprehending IT systems and processes is preferred.

• Familiarity with related product applications is preferred.

• Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance.

• Must be able to safely handle chemicals and hazardous materials.

• Availability for overtime and flexible shifts is required.

• Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites, accounting for 25–75% of working hours.
