Field Service Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee, install, and repair instrumentation at both internal and external client locations, including key accounts.

• Proactively address and resolve assigned customer and technical challenges.

• Guide and develop junior team members.

• Conduct high-quality installation, maintenance, and repair of mass spectrometers, HPLC, and/or capillary electrophoresis equipment.

• Provide qualification services and training for customers.

• Ensure customer satisfaction for strategic accounts.

• Complete administrative responsibilities, such as documenting service activities, expense tracking, and managing inventory.

• Report to the District Service Manager as part of the Field Technical Service team serving the greater Kansas City area.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate’s degree (A.S./A.A.S) or Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or equivalent experience (such as Military Certificates in electronics or avionics).

• Experience with LCMS and/or capillary electrophoresis is necessary.

• Previous experience in using and/or servicing mass spectrometry or scientific instrumentation.

• Comply with Vendor Credentialing requirements.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally by vehicle or airplane, with up to 50% overnight travel.

• Possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

• Capable and willing to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, and bend at the waist.

• Proficient in troubleshooting and following problem-solving processes.

• Familiarity with electrical and electromechanical technologies.

• Ability to adhere to necessary safety protocols.
