Field Service Engineer – High Voltage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Plan, execute, and oversee technical field assignments that involve the installation, modification, testing, commissioning, and repair of high-voltage equipment.

• Conduct field service operations to address both routine and complex technical challenges.

• Install, commission, and maintain high-voltage substation equipment ranging from 69kV to 550kV.

• Supervise contractors and electricians supplied by the company or the customer.

• Carry out field testing, which includes SF6 leak detection, gas analysis, timing, power factor, and contact resistance testing.

• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on high-voltage equipment.

• Diagnose and repair equipment utilizing advanced testing tools.

• Analyze test data, compile comprehensive reports, and provide technical recommendations.

• Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.

• Travel up to 85%, adapting to varied environments and non-standard work schedules.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (mandatory).

• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with high-voltage substations and equipment (greater than 69kV), including oversight of installation, testing, and commissioning activities.

• Experience with SF₆ circuit breakers and gas systems is highly preferred.

• Background in working with power utilities, substations, and transformers.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.

• Familiarity with operating test equipment such as CB timers, power factor testers, TTR, CT testers, and Meggers.

• Knowledge of Windows applications.

• Authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available).
