This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Conduct on-site installations, maintenance, validations, diagnostics, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairs of intricate laboratory equipment and systems.
• Provide guidance to customers on the operation and upkeep of systems.
• Act as the company representative for customers on both administrative and technical issues for designated projects.
• Support system hardware and software, personal computers, as well as networking and wireless networking.
• Collaborate with customers to comprehend analytical workflows and customize training, support, and upgrade services.
• Identify potential revenue streams, including billable work, consumables, and service leads.
• Manage assigned tools, testing equipment, telecommunications equipment, and service-parts inventory.
• Report opportunities for product quality enhancement through the quality notification process.
• Complete administrative duties including time reporting and mandatory training.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, environmental, and operational standards.
• Manage hazardous waste in accordance with applicable regulations when necessary.
• Travel via air, vehicle, or other means as business necessitates, typically up to 50% of the time.
• Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field, including military experience, along with 3 years of direct experience in laboratory equipment repair; OR an Associate Degree with 5 years of direct laboratory equipment repair experience; OR a High School Diploma with 7+ years of direct laboratory equipment repair experience.
• In-depth knowledge of analytical equipment, laboratory settings, and/or instrument-control software.
• Vendor certification for relevant laboratory equipment is preferred.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols.
• Willingness to travel as business requires, typically up to 50% of the time.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong technical critical-thinking skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficient customer-service skills and capability to interpret client requests.
• Aptitude for technical and practical tasks.
• Proficient in MS Office applications, including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Ability to follow and create both written and verbal instructions, and comprehend technical bulletins and service manuals.
• Capability to work under time constraints, maintain focus and concentration, and work safely amid potential hazards.
• Ability to function in laboratories and controlled environments that require personal protective equipment.
• Capacity to remain stationary for over 25% of the time and perform frequent bending, squatting, stretching, and reaching.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds, with potential occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Required close-range and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Ability to manage hazardous waste in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• May need to complete Medical Clearance, Respiratory Protection Training, and Fit Testing to be able to wear a respirator.
