This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot inverter and optimizer issues, including arc and isolation faults, battery behavior, backup interface performance, EV charger commissioning, and communication failures at sites.
• Assist with commissioning and challenging startup processes, such as SetApp configuration, firmware alignment, grid profile adjustments, Rule 21 settings, meter and CT verification, as well as optimizer pairing and mapping.
• Analyze monitoring data, site records, and fleet trends for failure analysis, offering feedback to Quality and Engineering teams.
• Manage escalations that remote support cannot resolve, including parts authorization and RMA release with Operations.
• Conduct field tests on alpha and beta hardware and firmware, providing pre-launch feedback to product teams.
• Act as the technical representative of SolarEdge for regional installers and identify any workflow gaps.
• Incorporate SolarEdge tools and processes into customer operations, including Designer, Monitoring Portal, SetApp, and warranty/RMA portal.
• Provide hands-on training for installer crews and distributor counter staff.
• Develop regional expertise in market dynamics, key installers, and local inspection and permitting practices.
• Record activities, findings, and results in SolarEdge CRM and the monitoring platform.
• Travel approximately 60% within the territory, primarily for day trips, with around 30% of travel time involving overnight stays.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for urgent site-down and safety concerns.
• Minimum of 2 years of field service, commissioning, or installation experience with complex electrical systems.
• Strong electrical/electronic troubleshooting skills, including the ability to read schematics, perform DC/AC measurements, use meters and clamp meters, and adhere to safe high-voltage practices.
• Familiarity with NEC 690/705 and California PV/storage interconnection, permitting, and inspection practices.
• Understanding of Rule 21, UL 1741 SB, and NEM 3.0-era storage designs.
• Capability to clearly explain solutions to installers, inspectors, or homeowners and document them in CRM/reporting systems.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work on rooftops and in electrical rooms while using appropriate PPE.
• Candidates must reside within the Bay Area, Sacramento, Central Valley, or northern territories and be within reasonable distance of a major airport.
• An Associate's degree or higher in a technical discipline is preferred, although not required.
• Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
• Prior experience with SolarEdge products is preferred but not mandatory.
