Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Execute field installations and initiate start-ups.

• Perform preventive maintenance and conduct performance inspections/tests.

• Ensure product compliance with manufacturing specifications and application engineering/purchase requirements.

• Document the performance of installed products.

• Provide training and guidance to users on proper operation and maintenance.

• Diagnose, repair, and calibrate refrigeration, electronic, and electro-mechanical components using schematics and prints.

• Build, sustain, and enhance positive relationships with customers.

• Organize service calls at client facilities.

• Create work orders and articulate the advantages of refrigeration and controller retrofits.

• Set up preventive maintenance contracts and carry out general service tasks.

• Stay informed about warranty, maintenance, and service policies and procedures.

• Maintain vehicle logs and schedules for maintenance.

• Keep thorough reports of field service and travel expenses.

• Travel weekly to local and regional customer locations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in refrigeration.

• Strong grasp of single-stage refrigeration systems.

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience or training in commercial/industrial refrigeration or HVAC/R.

• Familiarity with electronics and controls programming.

• Relevant service experience in a related field.

• Valid driver's license is required.

• Willingness to travel weekly, including staying in hotels for four nights each week.

• EPA Universal Certificate, experience or training with cascade refrigeration systems, and background in environmental simulation systems are preferred.

• Capability to meet specified physical demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
