Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Execute field installations and initiate start-ups.

• Carry out preventative maintenance and perform inspections/tests for operational performance.

• Ensure product compliance with manufacturing specifications and application engineering/purchase requirements.

• Record the performance of installed products.

• Educate and guide product users on proper operation and maintenance techniques.

• Diagnose, repair, and calibrate refrigeration, electronics, and electro-mechanical systems using schematics and blueprints.

• Build, sustain, and enhance positive relationships with customers.

• Organize service calls at client locations.

• Create work orders and articulate the advantages of refrigeration and controller retrofits.

• Set up preventive maintenance contracts and conduct general service tasks.

• Stay informed about warranty, maintenance, and service policies and procedures.

• Keep vehicle logs and maintenance schedules updated.

• Maintain detailed reports of field service and travel expenses.

• Travel to client sites both locally and regionally, with frequent overnight stays in hotels.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in refrigeration.

• Strong knowledge of single-stage refrigeration systems.

• At least 2 years of experience or training in commercial/industrial refrigeration or HVAC/R.

• Familiarity with electronics and controls programming.

• Experience in a related service role.

• Valid driver's license required.

• Willingness and capability to travel weekly, including staying in hotels for 4 nights a week post-training.

• Ability to meet physical demands such as standing, climbing, balancing, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.

• Preferred knowledge or experience in cascade refrigeration systems, EPA Universal Certificate, and environmental simulation systems industry experience.
