Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Travel to provide effective field support to clients in the food and pharmaceutical sectors.

• Ensure machines operate at optimal efficiency through appropriate calibration and testing.

• Commission and evaluate machines using certified test procedures, execute preventative maintenance, and deliver emergency service at customer locations.

• Meticulously document and report all service-related activities, including submitting Electronic Service Reports, Calibration Reports, and Expense Reports at designated intervals according to company protocols.

• Encourage sales of additional Loma product offerings, such as service contracts, new equipment leads, spare parts kits, and more.

• Provide prompt feedback regarding equipment reliability and design.

• Maintain an adequate inventory of parts and request additional components necessary for fulfilling regular Field Service Engineer responsibilities.

• Ensure all company property, including laptops, cell phones, safety equipment, and tools, is kept in excellent working condition.

• Adhere to safe working practices and procedures at all times.

• Conduct on-site training with customer personnel to guarantee proper equipment operation.

• Host meetings with customers, including scope and exit discussions.

• Participate in the rotation for weekend on-call duties and after-hours phone support.

• Within Loma's team environment, frequently communicate between field operations and internal office support staff regarding technical issues.

• Attend refresher training classes and Field Service Engineer meetings with fellow service team members to foster continuous improvement of both technical and non-technical skills.

• In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, the position holder must execute tasks assigned by their supervisor that are inherently related to their role.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma is required; an associate degree from a technical institution is preferred.

• A minimum of 3 years of prior experience in a technical role or 4 years of military service is required. Field travel experience is preferred.

• Knowledge and experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electro-mechanical equipment with the ability to identify root causes.

• Demonstrate pride in staying organized concerning the completion of paperwork, expense reports, and similar tasks.

• Must possess self-motivation with a strong drive to exceed expectations.

• Ability to read, understand, and interpret complex technical information related to mechanics and electronics, including schematics and electrical diagrams.

• Exhibit professional communication skills with an aptitude for resolving customer issues and diffusing conflict.

• Must have a genuine desire to learn about a diverse range of products and continuously enhance product knowledge.

• Strong ability to utilize electronic testing equipment, such as multi-meters.

• Capability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced and evolving environment while enjoying a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

• Able to work independently with minimal supervision while managing challenging and high-pressure customer situations.

• Proficiency with office software applications is required.

• Willingness to work overtime and on weekends.
