Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Traveling to client locations to conduct various services such as verification, preventative maintenance, repair, and installation on a diverse range of Instron’s products.

• Operating remotely, primarily from the Greater Chicago, IL to Milwaukee, Wisconsin area.

• Being provided with a company vehicle, necessary tools and equipment, including a laptop, cell phone, and MI-FI device.

• Enjoying the backing of a well-established service operation.

• Having regional responsibility for customers situated in Wisconsin and Illinois.

• Occasional travel to other locations across the US may be necessary, potentially requiring up to 40% overnight travel.

⛳️ Requirements

• Two or four-year technical degree from an accredited institution.

• Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems.

• Ability to read, understand, and interpret basic technical information related to mechanics and electronics in materials testing systems.

• Competence in interpreting blueprints and schematics.

• Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems.

• Familiarity with PCs, including operating systems and Windows applications.

• Prior field service experience is strongly preferred.

• Experience with automation systems is a plus.

• Preferred experience in performing preventative or corrective maintenance on servo hydraulic systems.

• Familiarity with materials testing is preferred but not mandatory.

• Experience in delivering hands-on and classroom training on technical subjects is preferred.
