This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Install, support, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Intuitive products within the designated territory.
• Fulfill service agreements and warranty commitments while surpassing customer expectations.
• Act as a senior technical expert for the da Vinci Surgical system across all platforms.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance, system inspections, preventive upkeep, software updates, recalls, field actions, and upgrades.
• Diagnose and repair Intuitive products and related equipment within specified timeframes.
• Organize and execute system and hardware delivery and installation.
• Carry out administrative tasks such as managing spare parts inventory, completing Field Activity Reports, Return Material Authorizations, and expense reports.
• Maintain company-issued tools, calibrated tool sets, vehicle, laptops, iPads, and other assets.
• Provide support to Intuitive teams, including participation in sales trade shows, customer phone support, and coordination with hospital contacts.
• Offer feedback to headquarters and engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Complete required equipment training, courses from Intuitive Surgical University, and professional development programs.
• Manage the assigned territory, including customer needs, install-base configurations, customer contacts, relationships, training, and events.
• Mentor junior Field Service Engineers on maintenance, customer service, and administrative responsibilities.
• Participate in new product introduction efforts.
• Engage in regional continuous process improvement projects in collaboration with management, product support, engineering, and cross-functional teams.
• Assist with the renewal of service contracts.
• Bachelor’s or college degree in a scientific or technical engineering field, or equivalent experience.
• Alternatively, 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Alternatively, 3 years of experience along with a Master’s degree.
• Alternatively, a PhD with no professional experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the local language(s) and English.
• Strong interpersonal abilities.
• In-depth technical knowledge of Intuitive Surgical products, acquired through experience.
• Proficient teaching and presentation skills.
• Exceptional administrative and record-keeping capabilities.
• Familiarity with Operating Room protocols is preferred.
• Proven history of solid relationships with surgeons and hospital staff is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Willingness to travel 50–70%, depending on account distribution and geographical area.
• Subject to applicable U.S. export controls, export licenses, and/or Technology Control Plan requirements may apply.
• Remote work arrangement; employees have the flexibility to work outside the office and come onsite when requested by their leader.
