Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee Customer Technical Relations post-sale for all Intuitive Surgical products within a designated territory.

• Act as a senior technical expert for the da Vinci Surgical system across all platforms.

• Evaluate customer needs and assist with pre-site planning and installation coordination.

• Independently manage and schedule both planned and unplanned customer appointments.

• Conduct follow-up visits to optimize system reliability and fulfill uptime commitments.

• Evaluate functionality and repair Intuitive Surgical products using sound discretion and independent judgment.

• Identify and propose product or process improvements to Product Support and Product Engineering teams.

• Provide on-site technical assistance and training support to Junior and Field Service Engineers.

• Initiate service contract renewal discussions with hospitals by showcasing service offerings.

• Evaluate customer technical training requirements and deliver training or support in an operating room setting.

• Handle administrative responsibilities including spare parts inventory, RMAs, calibrated equipment, training documentation, preventative maintenance scheduling, service contract billing, system configurations, and call escalation data.

• Assist in Sales Training and Marketing events by identifying potential issues and formulating strategies for resolution.


⛳️ Requirements

• A college degree in applied science or engineering is preferred; equivalent training or experience may include extensive coursework in engineering or applied science.

• At least 5 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer, particularly within the medical device sector.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal abilities.

• Excellent administrative and record-keeping capabilities.

• Comprehensive understanding of Operating Room protocols.

• Proven history of building solid relationships with Surgeons and Hospital personnel.

• Demonstrated success in providing training support.

• Proficient in articulating the value proposition of service offerings.

• Established ability to independently troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems.

• Willingness to travel up to 25%, based on account distribution.
