This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Install, support, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Intuitive products within the designated territory.
• Meet service agreements and warranty commitments while surpassing customer expectations.
• Act as a senior technical expert for da Vinci surgical systems across all platforms.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance, system inspections, preventive maintenance, software updates, recalls, field actions, and upgrades.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Intuitive products and related equipment.
• Organize and execute system and hardware delivery and installation.
• Perform administrative tasks, including spare-parts inventory management, Field Activity Reports, Return Material Authorizations, and expense reports.
• Maintain company-issued tools, calibrated tool sets, vehicles, laptops, iPads, and other assets.
• Assist Intuitive teams, including participation in sales trade shows, providing customer phone support, and coordinating hospital contacts.
• Share feedback with headquarters and engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Complete mandatory equipment training, attend Intuitive Surgical University classes, and pursue professional development courses.
• Manage the assigned territory, addressing customer needs, install-base configurations, customer contacts, relationships, training, and events.
• Mentor junior Field Service Engineers once sufficient experience is gained.
• Participate in the introduction of new products and regional process improvement efforts.
• Assist with service contract renewals.
• A university or college degree in a scientific or technical engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Alternatively, 5 years of relevant work experience, or 3 years of experience combined with a Master’s degree, or a PhD without prior experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the local language(s) of the market and English.
• Strong interpersonal abilities.
• In-depth technical knowledge of Intuitive Surgical products acquired through experience.
• Proficient teaching and presentation skills.
• Strong administrative abilities and record-keeping skills.
• Familiarity with Operating Room protocols is preferred.
• A proven history of building solid customer relationships with surgeons and hospital personnel is preferred.
• Demonstrated capability to independently troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 50–70%, depending on account distribution and region.
• Candidates may be subject to U.S. export-control licensing or a Technology Control Plan, if applicable.
• Remote work arrangement; employees have the flexibility to work remotely and are requested to come onsite when needed by leadership.
• Professional development courses provided as required by management.
