This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Deliver remote and on-site technical assistance for BD automated dispensing systems throughout the designated region, which includes DHA and DoD facilities.
• Address, assess, prioritize, and resolve work orders within established service-level expectations.
• Diagnose and rectify proprietary hardware and software issues while maintaining full ownership of cases.
• Resolve intricate problems and escalate them to Senior or Lead Field Service Engineers when necessary.
• Assist government accounts that require eligibility for a Common Access Card (CAC).
• Implement preventive maintenance initiatives to ensure system reliability and operational uptime.
• Carry out installations, in-servicing, repairs, calibrations, and general technical support.
• Keep an accurate inventory of spare parts on hand.
• Maintain the company-issued vehicle, tools, and equipment in good condition.
• Foster positive customer relationships through professional communication and prompt support.
• Record service activities, expenses, and time logs using authorized tools.
• Collaborate with Sales and Implementation teams to enhance deployments and customer experiences.
• Adhere to complaint-handling and Medical Device Reporting service protocols.
• Ensure that service documentation complies with regulatory and corporate standards.
• Adhere to company safety policies, quality standards, and operational guidelines.
• Engage in continuous training and stay updated on technologies, best practices, and system enhancements.
• Work autonomously and collaboratively to achieve service objectives.
• Assist leadership with escalations, advanced troubleshooting, and case resolutions.
• Promote a preventive service culture through shared insights and proactive support.
• An associate degree in S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
• Prior experience as a Field Service or Technical Support specialist.
• 1–3 years of combined experience in hardware, software, and IT support for both proprietary and standard applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficient with Windows OS, networking, and diagnostic tools.
• Experience providing both remote and on-site technical support.
• Knowledge of work-order evaluation, prioritization, and resolution processes.
• Experience in diagnosing and repairing hardware/software components.
• Background in preventive maintenance, installations, repairs, and calibrations.
• Familiarity with inventory management and adherence to company policies.
• Experience with service documentation, tracking expenses, and time management.
• Understanding of MDR compliance and service procedures.
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing schedules and provide 24×7 on-call service.
• Eligibility for access to Local, State, and/or Federal facilities, including background checks and necessary identification credentials or security badges.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Ability to meet BD’s driving requirements.
• Residing in or within a 30-mile radius of Tampa, Florida, or willing to relocate to the area.
• Required experience in repairing medical or electromechanical devices.
• CompTIA A+ Certification or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with remote and on-site technical support for automated dispensing systems.
• Previous involvement with 24×7 on-call service.
• Ability to use powered and manual hand tools.
• Capability to lift 85 lbs. frequently and 115 lbs. occasionally, including overhead lifting.
• Ability to climb, kneel, crawl, reach, grasp, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Capacity to sit for prolonged periods during travel.
• Daily car travel is mandatory, with occasional air travel and overnight stays.
