Field Sales Mortgage Loan Originator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Initiate mortgage loans within a designated Non-Bank region

• Process loan applications

• Perform initial underwriting assessments

• Forward loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval

• Ensure timely procurement of necessary documents for processing, underwriting, and closing from relevant sources

• Generate and pursue loan sales

• Engage in sales-related activities outside of U.S. Bank locations

• Allocate at least 50% of working hours to activities conducted away from U.S. Bank premises

⛳️ Requirements

• Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing Service (NMLS) in accordance with the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z, along with continuous adherence to all legal or regulatory registration obligations

• Maintain a satisfactory criminal and credit history

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification

• Minimum of two years of experience in Mortgage, Sales, or Real Estate

• Exceptional sales skills and capability to work autonomously

• Established network of referrals within the assigned market

• Comprehensive understanding of pricing and underwriting standards of various mortgage insurance providers

• Proficient knowledge of underwriting criteria for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors

• Awareness of local, state, and national regulations, including zoning laws, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, and energy audit standards

• Strong communication skills

• Capacity to evaluate financial data
