This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Perform virtual and in-person investigations at the residences of policyholders.
• Evaluate property damage, establish liability, assess the extent of loss, and negotiate equitable settlements.
• Utilize claims handling software, along with a company vehicle and laptop, to assess damage and prepare estimates in a paperless setting.
• Identify and report potential subrogation opportunities.
• Notify relevant state and industry agencies regarding incidents of theft, fraud, or arson.
• Operate independently with responsibilities that significantly influence management outcomes.
• Represent the company with professionalism in all public interactions.
• Collaborate with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other stakeholders.
• Negotiate claims settlements with policyholders using exemplary customer service skills.
• Advocate for safety and adhere to company safety and ergonomic standards.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• Strong customer service experience, ideally in a retail setting.
• Experience in construction or insurance is highly preferred.
• Exceptional oral and written communication capabilities.
• Proficient in computer applications: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with smartphones and mobile applications.
• A strong desire to learn about insurance policies and property damage.
• An outgoing demeanor and ability to engage with diverse individuals.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Must be bondable.
• Final candidates will undergo a Motor Vehicle Record background check.
• Must be willing and able to climb ladders, inspect roofs, and work at heights multiple times daily.
• Capability to work in confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces.
• Must achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training examinations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Proficient in English speaking, reading, writing, and data entry.
• Capable of working in uncontrolled outdoor conditions and potentially hazardous environments.
• Candidates must reside within the designated hiring territory.
• Willingness to commit to 1–3 catastrophe deployments annually.
• Employees on the catastrophe team may need to travel away from their residence, typically for 2–3 weeks.
