This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Perform both virtual and in-person investigations at the residences of policyholders.
• Evaluate property damage, ascertain liability, assess the extent of loss, and facilitate fair settlements.
• Utilize claims handling software to assess damage and create estimates within a paperless environment.
• Use a company-provided vehicle and laptop for claims-related tasks.
• Identify and report potential subrogation opportunities.
• Report incidents of theft, fraud, or arson to the relevant state and industry authorities.
• Execute responsibilities independently, with a direct impact on management decisions.
• Represent the company with professionalism during public engagements.
• Interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other pertinent parties.
• Negotiate settlements with policyholders for claims.
• Advocate for safety and adhere to safety and ergonomic guidelines.
• Travel away from home for catastrophe assignments, typically lasting 2 to 3 weeks.
• Carry out additional duties as required.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong customer service experience, preferably in a retail setting.
• Background in construction or insurance is highly desirable.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in computer applications: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Familiarity with smartphones and various applications.
• Willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage.
• A valid driver’s license is mandatory.
• Must be bondable.
• Final candidates will undergo a Motor Vehicle Record background check.
• Capability to climb ladders and work on rooftops multiple times a day.
• Ability to work in small, confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces.
• Must achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training exams.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Proficiency in English speaking, reading, writing, and data entry.
• Willingness to commit to 1–3 catastrophe deployments each year.
• Candidates must reside in the Mount Pleasant, Sulphur Springs, and Texarkana, Texas areas.
