This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Perform virtual and in-person investigations at the homes of policyholders.

• Evaluate property damage, establish liability, assess losses, and negotiate equitable settlements.

• Utilize claims management software, a company vehicle, and a laptop to assess damage and create estimates in a paperless setting.

• Analyze and report potential subrogation opportunities.

• Notify relevant state and industry agencies regarding incidents of theft, fraud, or arson.

• Carry out responsibilities autonomously with a direct influence on management decisions.

• Represent the organization in a professional manner during public engagements.

• Interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other relevant parties.

• Negotiate settlements with policyholders to resolve claims.

• Advocate for safety and adhere to established safety and ergonomic standards.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as required.

• Travel away from home for catastrophe assignments when necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

• Strong customer service background, ideally in a retail setting.

• Experience in construction or insurance is highly sought after.

• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.

• Proficient in computer applications: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.

• Comfortable using smartphones and various applications.

• Willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage.

• Possession of a valid driver's license.

• Must be bondable.

• Final candidates will undergo a Motor Vehicle Record background check.

• Capable of climbing ladders, inspecting roofs, and working on rooftops multiple times daily.

• Able to work in small, confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.

• Must achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training assessments.

• Proficiency in English speaking, reading, and writing.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Candidates should reside in the greater Portland, Oregon area and be Oregon residents.

• Willingness to commit to 1–3 catastrophe deployments annually; CAT team roles require travel away from home, typically for 2-3 days.
