This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• Conduct virtual and in-person investigations at the residences of policyholders.
• Evaluate property damage, ascertain liability, assess losses, and negotiate equitable settlements.
• Utilize claims handling software to assess claims-related damage and generate estimates in a paperless setting.
• Identify and report potential subrogation opportunities.
• Report incidents of theft, fraud, or arson to the relevant state and industry authorities.
• Execute duties autonomously with a direct impact on management outcomes.
• Represent the company professionally in all public interactions.
• Interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other stakeholders.
• Negotiate settlements with policyholders for claims.
• Promote safety and adhere to company safety and ergonomic protocols.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
• High School diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.
• Exceptional customer service skills, ideally gained in a retail setting.
• Experience in construction or insurance is highly desirable and preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Proficient in computer applications: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Competent with smartphones and relevant applications.
• Willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to be bonded.
• Final candidates must undergo a Motor Vehicle Record background check.
• Must reside in the Greater St. Louis, MO area.
• Must be capable of climbing ladders and working on rooftops multiple times per day.
• Must be willing to work in confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces.
• Must achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training examinations.
• Ability to perform necessary physical tasks including bending, kneeling, pulling, pushing, sorting, carrying up to 50 lbs., climbing, reaching, standing, walking, seeing, speaking, reading, writing, and data entry.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English is required.
• Must commit to 1–3 catastrophe deployments each year.
• Catastrophe team assignments necessitate travel away from home, typically for 2 to 3 days.
