This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Conduct both virtual and in-person investigations at the residences of policyholders.

• Assess property damage, establish liability, evaluate the extent of loss, and negotiate equitable settlements.

• Utilize claims handling software, a company vehicle, and a laptop to assess damage and create estimates in a paperless setting.

• Identify and report potential subrogation opportunities.

• Inform relevant state and industry agencies about incidents of theft, fraud, or arson.

• Operate independently, with work directly influencing management decisions.

• Represent the organization in public engagements while upholding professional standards.

• Interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other stakeholders.

• Negotiate settlements with policyholders for claims.

• Advocate for safety and adhere to company safety and ergonomic guidelines.

• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

• Strong customer service experience, preferably gained in a retail setting.

• Experience in construction or insurance is highly desirable and preferred.

• Superior oral and written communication abilities.

• Proficient in computer applications: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Competence with smartphones and various applications.

• Willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage.

• Valid driver's license is required.

• Must be bondable.

• Final candidates will undergo a Motor Vehicle Record background check.

• Must be able and willing to climb ladders and work on rooftops multiple times daily.

• Capable of working in small, confined spaces, such as attics and crawlspaces.

• Must achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training examinations.

• Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Willing to commit to 1–3 catastrophe deployments annually.

• Catastrophe team members are required to travel away from their residence, typically for 2–3 weeks.
