This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and enhance PLC programs that oversee HVAC, central plant, mechanical, and electrical systems within data center settings.
• Execute modifications to PLC databases, control sequences, and strategies as per customer requests.
• Set up PLC logic, tags, alarms, I/O structures, and system parameters.
• Create reusable code, templates, and establish standardized programming methodologies.
• Conduct testing of PLC logic and confirm system functionality prior to field deployment.
• Engage with clients to comprehend their mechanical, electrical, and automation needs.
• Offer technical insights during client meetings, design evaluations, and project coordination discussions.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, vendors, field teams, and commissioning groups.
• Relay technical risks, outstanding issues, and project updates.
• Assist in system start-up, troubleshooting, and validation processes.
• Resolve installation and programming challenges during both static and dynamic commissioning phases.
• Identify and rectify errors in PLC logic, hardware, field devices, and communication networks.
• Integrate PLC systems with SCADA, BMS, EPMS, and other facility management systems.
• Document programming workflows, logic alterations, system configurations, and commissioning revisions.
• Adhere to PLC programming standards, code review protocols, naming conventions, and documentation requirements.
• Keep project files organized and maintain precise technical records.
• Participate in internal evaluations and discussions of lessons learned.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in PLC programming, controls engineering, industrial automation, or a related technical field.
• Willingness and capability to travel up to 50–60%, including possible extended site assignments.
• Familiarity with Rockwell / Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 or comparable PLC programming platforms.
• Comprehension of PLC logic, I/O, field devices, industrial networks, and control system architecture.
• Proficient in troubleshooting PLC logic, hardware, and communication networks.
• Excellent organizational, task management, and documentation abilities.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment.
• Self-motivated and proactive, capable of managing assigned tasks with appropriate oversight.
• Valid OSHA 10 certification obtained within the last two years is mandatory; training will be provided if necessary and must be completed within the first week of employment.
• Ability to travel frequently to job sites by car or plane, up to 60%.
• Capability to stand, walk, and move around job sites for extended durations.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, stairs, and lifts as required.
• Capacity to bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined or tight spaces.
• Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity for handling tools, wiring, and small components.
• Ability to work at heights and in various indoor and outdoor conditions.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment.
• Visual acuity to read schematics, labels, and digital displays.
• Ability to visually identify and distinguish wires by their assigned color.
• Capability to hear and respond to alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions.
• Proficient in the safe operation of hand and power tools.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Software, Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Preferred: Experience with HVAC controls, central plants, chillers, boilers, or mechanical systems.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Ignition SCADA, HMIs, Kepware, EPMS, BMS, or facility integration platforms.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, BACnet/IP, or OPC-UA.
• Preferred: Experience in data centers, hyperscale infrastructure, mission-critical facilities, or systems integration.
