This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
β’ Serve as a nurse liaison who organizes care and conveys essential medical information between the Injured Worker, the Insured, and the Carrier to promote suitable treatment, effective rehabilitation, and a return to work.
β’ Provide effective and cost-efficient communication concerning workplace injuries, motor vehicle accidents (MVAs), liability claims, long-term disability (LTD)/short-term disability (STD), and other referred services.
β’ This position is remote and field-based, requiring regular local travel of up to 2 hours within your area.
β’ Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the Case Management (CM) plan, while being accountable for the CM process.
β’ Accept referrals as designated by the Director of Case Management.
β’ Initiate contact according to the CM plan; arrange initial assessments; secure the date for the next physician appointment.
β’ Confirm assignments with the referral source and clarify any special handling instructions.
β’ Establish professional relationships with clients; treat claimants with respect and dignity.
β’ After physician appointments, communicate with the Carrier and Insured according to protocol; maintain consistent communication with the Injured Worker, Insured, and Carrier.
β’ Document data and billing in CaseAnyplace; timely submit monthly reports (Preliminary, Initial, Progress, Closing).
β’ Attend physician appointments to gather diagnosis, prognosis, treatment plans, rehabilitation duration, estimated return to work (modified/regular duty), and MMI/Full Recovery as appropriate.
β’ Refer to a Vocational Counselor for job analyses (modified/regular duty) when suitable and approved by the Carrier.
β’ Recommend independent medical exam (IME) physicians; coordinate and participate in IMEs.
β’ Arrange transportation as necessary.
β’ Provide translation services as needed (for bilingual nurses).
β’ Oversee the treatment plan; attend therapy sessions as appropriate; keep in touch with therapists for updates.
β’ Request file transfers to the Vocational Counselor when appropriate (LMS, Voc Rehab).
β’ Assist the Carrier/Insured with return-to-work planning (modified or regular duty).
β’ Provide relevant information to Defense Attorneys as required.
β’ Foster teamwork among all staff members.
β’ Optimize accurate and appropriate billable hours according to the monthly target (8 hrs/day).
β’ Maintain licensure and certifications; complete all required annual training punctually.
β’ Carry out additional professional responsibilities as assigned.
β’ Retain accountability for tasks assigned to non-clinical staff.
β’ Registered Nurse: Must possess a current, unrestricted state license; licensed in every state where field case management is conducted; capable of performing independent assessments within scope.
β’ Discipline Eligibility: Must practice in a U.S. state or territory that permits independent assessment within the scope of practice.
β’ Education: Must have completed a nursing program and ongoing continuing education as mandated.
β’ Certification: One or more national certifications obtained within 4 years of hire (e.g., CCM, CRC, CLNC, CRRN) is preferred.
β’ Experience: A minimum of two years of full-time equivalent direct case management for injured workers or two years under supervision is preferred.
