This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.
• Collaborate directly with designated contract pork producers to identify and resolve issues while offering solutions for production enhancement.
• Cultivate customer relationships and maintain documentation of on-farm reports.
• Partner with the Business Manager to develop solutions and make decisions that impact the area and business unit's profitability.
• Conduct farm visits, producer meetings, and share information to optimize farm productivity.
• Oversee 20–25 producer sites, managing approximately 50,000–100,000 pig spaces.
• Assist with the management of producer relationships and the renewal of contracts.
• Train, mentor, and develop new farm managers.
• Perform audits on facility and environmental compliance, aiding producers in meeting essential requirements.
• Support producers in marketing their animals.
• Manage administrative responsibilities including pig conformance, feed budgets, and the closeout process.
• Uphold animal welfare standards, environmental compliance, medication/veterinary ordering, and biosecurity action planning.
• Assist in controlling feed, supply, and labor costs.
• Ensure the accuracy of records and maintain numerical integrity.
• Coordinate and oversee special projects.
• Suggest operational improvements.
• Execute other tasks as assigned by the Production Manager.
• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or a related field, or 5 years of equivalent experience in pork production.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Willingness to travel approximately 15%, with frequent trips to farms in Central and East Central Iowa.
• Capability to motivate and inspire individuals to reach ambitious goals.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of overall business strategies and operations.
• Competence in spreadsheet, database, and word-processing applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Physical ability to bend, push, pull, twist, and lift approximately 60+ lbs.
• Completion of post-offer, pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background checks is required.
• Verification of employment eligibility must be completed by the end of the third day of work.
