Field Engineering Supervisor I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +15 more states.

📋 Description

• Prepare for field assignments utilizing Osmose pre-project and project plan data.

• Develop daily project strategies in collaboration with customer field supervisors.

• Deliver on-site customer training focused on safety, testing equipment, and procedures.

• Evaluate test environments and factors that impact cable performance and diagnostic outcomes.

• Guide customers and contractors on-site during the preparation and execution of tests.

• Identify and implement field strategies to address customer requirements and resolve issues.

• Foster positive relationships with various customer representatives.

• Manage Factory Grade advanced diagnostics for underground medium- and high-voltage power cables.

• Diagnose and repair testing equipment, circuitry, interfaces, and computer subsystems.

• Operate advanced diagnostic tools and gather test data on-site.

• Utilize partial discharge principles in field evaluations.

• Assess if test data is adequate for substantial analysis.

• Execute cable matching procedures and document both technical and administrative information.

• Troubleshoot electromechanical systems and equipment.

• Report critical technical and administrative concerns to the remote support team.

• Adhere to company technical, administrative, and safety protocols.

• Fulfill certification and safety/compliance obligations.

• Engage in meetings, training sessions, and scheduled events.

• Lead and assist teams in cable reliability management activities, including mitigation and splicing.

• Manage, supply, and coordinate maintenance for the Mobile Diagnostic Unit.

• Provide shadow training to fellow field associates as needed.


⛳️ Requirements

• Associate degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

• A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, engineering technology, or a similar discipline is advantageous.

• Experience in testing both low-voltage and high-voltage power systems is preferred.

• A minimum of one year of experience in field service within power utilities is a plus.

• Familiarity with electrical and electronic engineering principles and systems fundamentals.

• Understanding of the fundamentals of analog and digital signal processing theory.

• Capability to supervise work crews and assess the integrity of diagnostic data.

• Proficient in troubleshooting analog and digital circuitry, high-frequency and fiber-optic interfaces, computer subsystems, and electromechanical equipment.

• Must meet certification and safety/compliance standards.

• Willingness to travel up to 70% and operate in diverse, challenging, and unpredictable field environments.
