Field Engineer – Training

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Inspect components of turbines and generators

• Offer technical guidance

• Analyze turbine inspection data

• Oversee repair operations

• Diagnose equipment issues

• Execute rotor and steam path alignment

• Monitor outage schedules and workforce

• Manage labor activities

• Organize outages

• Educate customers

• Dedicate approximately two years to working as an Engineer in Training under the mentorship of Senior Field Engineers

• Acquire maintenance practices necessary for inspecting GE and Westinghouse steam turbine-generator units

• Engage in billable assignments based on skills and capabilities during and after training, as appropriate

• Support start-up engineers with system checkouts following outages and oversee turbine operations

• Assist with laser alignment of turbines

• Conduct vibration analysis and balancing of turbine generators

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering

• Strong knowledge of power generation equipment and associated support systems

• Capability to work in an industrial setting

• Must successfully pass a drug screening and background check

• Willingness to travel extensively within the US, and occasionally abroad for brief periods

• Prior experience with power generation equipment, automobiles, related systems, industrial machinery, or maritime work (preferred)

• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word (preferred)

• Experience in Project Management (preferred)

• Proficiency in Spanish is an advantage
