Field Engineer – Emergency Call Handling

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Configure all assigned Emergency Call Handling solutions, including hybrid cloud and SaaS applications.

• Conduct site verification testing prior to transitioning sites into production.

• Set up and troubleshoot connectivity between local site infrastructure and cloud-hosted application environments.

• Assist customers and channel partners during the deployment of ECH solutions into production.

• Record solution modifications, including cloud tenant configurations and API integrations, throughout the implementation process.

• Address installation and quality concerns promptly and efficiently.

• Contribute to the development and approval of Methods of Procedure for cloud migrations and system upgrades.

• Engage in pre-contract oral presentations and customer negotiations as necessary.

• Maintain expertise in emerging cloud-native public safety technologies.

• Report directly to the ECH Field Engineer Manager.

• Take responsibility for system implementation based on site design, which includes on-site configuration, testing, cutover, and post-cut support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, IT, Software Engineering, or Technology is preferred.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in deploying and integrating complex IP products and systems.

• Familiarity with Cloud Platforms and Deployment Models, including Azure, AWS, or Private Cloud environments.

• Proficient in troubleshooting cloud-based applications, including connectivity, latency analysis, and identity management (SSO/Active Directory).

• Relevant cloud certifications are preferred, such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals.

• CompTIA Network+ AND Security+ certifications are required.

• Experience with server virtualization, particularly VMware ESXi v.6+ and/or Microsoft Hyper-V 2012+.

• Knowledge of database servers, specifically Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2/2012/2016.

• Familiarity with server operating systems, especially Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2.

• Proficient in workstation operating systems, specifically Windows 7 and 10.

• Experience with Linux operating systems.

• Knowledge of network switches, preferably Cisco IOS.

• Basic understanding of firewalls and routers, preferably Fortinet FortiGate.

• Experience with server and workstation hardware.

• Prior experience in public safety applications deployment and integration, and/or operations and administration is preferred.

• Ability to make informed judgments in selecting methods and techniques for solutions.

• Strong critical thinking skills for problem-solving and decision-making.

• High School diploma, G.E.D. or Associates degree, along with a Bachelor's degree.

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely; employer work permit sponsorship is not available.

• Willingness to travel extensively, with travel requirements exceeding 75%, and listed travel expectations being 50–75%.
