This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a reliable technical advisor for public sector clients and potential clients.
• Link DevSecOps strategies, security measures, and compliance objectives to business and mission results.
• Offer technical consulting and strategic advice during the pre-sales phase.
• Provide executive-level insights on DevSecOps, security, and compliance.
• Establish and nurture relationships with CISOs, CSOs, CTOs, and chief security architects.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams.
• Create public sector content and assist with media engagement initiatives.
• Educate clients on the GitLab platform and associated technologies to ensure successful implementation.
• Assist with information requests and responses to government publications.
• Engage in government working groups, standards discussions, and demonstrations.
• Collect and communicate feedback from the public sector field.
• Contribute to sales strategies, playbooks, enablement, and reusable technical resources.
• Represent GitLab in discussions with customers and industry stakeholders; influence go-to-market strategies and product direction.
• Proven expertise in DevSecOps strategy, application security, and compliance within regulated environments, including providing risk-based advice.
• Experience in selling to, supporting, or working within the public sector.
• Background in creating and delivering technical thought leadership materials such as presentations, demonstrations, and written documentation independently.
• Familiarity with the complete software development lifecycle, including CI/CD and contemporary engineering and operations practices.
• Experience with cloud computing and modern platform architectures that facilitate secure software delivery.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities, capable of conveying technical strategies to both executives and engineers.
• Comfortable working in a fully remote, distributed, and asynchronous setting.
• Ability to coordinate across different time zones and adjust schedules to meet customer and internal stakeholder requirements.
• Experience in technical pre-sales, consulting, solutions architecture, or similar client-facing IT positions.
• Familiarity with GitLab or a readiness to learn quickly to enhance customer conversations and demonstrations.
• Residing in the Washington D.C. Metro area is preferred.
