Chief Technology Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement a long-term technology roadmap that aligns with the business strategy.

• Drive platform modernization efforts, focusing on cloud architecture, scalability, performance, and security.

• Assess emerging technologies and provide recommendations for strategic investments.

• Establish technology standards, governance frameworks, and best practices for engineering.

• Mentor and lead teams in Software Development, QA, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Architecture.

• Cultivate a high-performing engineering culture while attracting, developing, and retaining technical talent.

• Set KPIs to enhance engineering efficiency, quality, and delivery metrics.

• Collaborate with Product Management to define the technical direction and drive scalable SaaS delivery.

• Formulate the organization's AI strategy and integrate AI capabilities throughout the platform.

• Oversee the secure and scalable utilization of Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot, RAG, intelligent automation, and predictive analytics.

• Ensure platform reliability, uptime, disaster recovery, business continuity, cybersecurity, monitoring, observability, and incident response are maintained.

• Collaborate with Product Management, Professional Services, Customer Success, Sales, and Executive Leadership teams.

• Engage in customer meetings, deliver executive presentations, and participate in strategic planning sessions.

• Enhance software delivery speed, mitigate technical debt, and establish comprehensive engineering metrics.

• Create a multi-year technology roadmap that promotes cloud modernization, launches AI-enabled features, enhances quality and reliability, strengthens engineering culture, and aligns cross-functional teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of progressive experience in software engineering.

• More than 3 years of experience in leading engineering organizations.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering enterprise SaaS platforms.

• Proven track record in leading cloud migration and modernization projects.

• In-depth understanding of Microsoft Azure, cloud architecture, APIs, microservices, CI/CD, DevOps, security, and scalable system design.

• Experience in managing engineering budgets and technology roadmaps.

• Strong executive communication and leadership capabilities.

• Preferred: Experience in ERP, logistics, transportation, moving & storage, or field service software sectors.

• Preferred: Experience in integrating AI and machine learning into commercial software products.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, Azure OpenAI, and contemporary AI development frameworks.

• Preferred: Experience in a private equity or software portfolio environment.
