Field Clinical Advisor, Cell Therapy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Serve as the protocol authority and pipeline representative for cell therapy trial sites throughout Australia.

• Advocate for patient recruitment, retention, and safety across designated cell therapy trials.

• Provide advanced education and hands-on training to trial sites.

• Collaborate with investigators and site teams to establish feasible eligibility pathways and activate referral networks.

• Address clinical and operational issues through root-cause analysis and improvement measures.

• Convert field insights into actionable recommendations that enhance strategy and site performance.

• Coordinate efforts across Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Patient Operations, Supply and Logistics, and Country Operations to support trial sites.

• Create training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and playbooks for AstraZeneca Australia’s cell therapy initiatives.

• Gather insights to enhance clinical trial execution, patient experience, recruitment, retention, and operational scalability.

• Report to the Senior Director, Field Clinical Advisors APAC.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field.

• Over 5 years of experience in clinical research, clinical trial operations, or field-facing scientific roles.

• Direct engagement with sites in oncology, hematology, and/or advanced therapy clinical trials.

• Proven knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

• Strong understanding of the cell therapy patient journey, including apheresis/collection, logistics, and safety management.

• Ability to provide protocol education and convert complex requirements into actionable site procedures.

• Experience in a territory- or field-based role supporting customers, investigators, or clinical trial sites.

• Exceptional partner engagement, communication, and presentation abilities.

• Willingness to travel nationally.

• Patient- and site-focused mindset, data-driven problem-solving skills, and comfort in a build-and-scale environment.

• Advanced degree preferred, such as PharmD, PhD, MSc, NP, MD/RN.

• Experience with CAR-T, stem cell transplantation, or broader cell therapy is desirable.

• Existing relationships with cell therapy sites in Australia are advantageous.

• Experience within large pharmaceutical companies, cross-functional site support models, and digital insight platforms is preferred.

• Credibility and confidence in engaging Principal Investigators as a thought partner is desirable.
