Field Application Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Spearhead product innovation initiatives and support research and ideation for new opportunities in innovation.

• Facilitate innovation field trials from Minimum Viable Product (MVP) through to full solution implementation and early commercialization.

• Collect insights and feedback from trial participants to guide decisions in innovation development.

• Define technical success criteria for initial market entry.

• Provide technical consulting and assist in the development of sensing mechanisms for data acquisition and evaluations of building science durability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional product development teams to test and validate new innovations.

• Assist with standard or updated ASTM testing procedures.

• Install data acquisition devices along with temperature, humidity, and moisture sensors.

• Analyze validation-test data and offer insights regarding risk, durability, efficacy, and performance.

• Lead the technical execution and project management of early-stage MVP field trials.

• Develop, implement, and manage project plans in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

• Create technical field application and installation guides.

• Train Owens Corning commercial teams on solution value, best practices, and scaling in targeted regions.

• Drive technical success in early-market trials with targeted customers.

• Navigate subcontractor and construction process challenges.

• Assess data and customer/builder feedback to pinpoint preferred product solutions, identify trends, and recognize product gaps.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• Willingness to travel 50-70% of the time.

• Reside within reasonable distance to a major airport.

• Minimum of 3 years experience in the building industry.

• Preferred 2+ years of applied Building Science field experience (moisture, durability).

• Preferred knowledge of HVAC systems.

• Preferred understanding of structural engineering principles.

• Experience in Project Management collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Data Analytics expertise.

• Familiarity with residential and commercial construction processes.

• Practical skills to provide training on installation best practices.
