Field Application Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Act as Formlabs’ main technical liaison and company representative throughout the DACH region and beyond.

• Travel to customer locations to unpack, install, commission, and calibrate 3D printing systems.

• Provide structured on-site training for users on machinery operation, software utilization, and basic maintenance.

• Carry out live product demonstrations.

• Quickly respond to customer downtime and perform urgent repairs.

• Conduct annual preventative maintenance visits within a 90-day target window for customers with warranties.

• Diagnose electromechanical issues and achieve resolutions in a single visit.

• Manage a high volume of customer-related activities.

• Independently coordinate flights, trains, hotels, rental cars, and expenses.

• Keep records of installations, training sessions, and repairs in Salesforce.

⛳️ Requirements

• Residing in Frankfurt, Berlin, or Munich is strongly preferred due to connectivity at hubs.

• Willingness to travel over 80% of the time.

• Strong technical background in electromechanical/hardware systems.

• Capability to instruct others on using technical equipment.

• Proficiency in German and English at the C1 level.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Fluency in French is an advantage.

• A passion for 3D printing and emerging technologies is a plus.

• Experience in fast-growing startup environments is a plus.

• English résumé is mandatory.
