Family Physician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Deliver prompt and expert consultation to primary care Nurse Practitioners for cases beyond NP scope, complex scenarios, diagnostic challenges, and treatment strategies

• Assess patient records, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment strategies while offering comprehensive recommendations

• Authorize medical directives for NP execution when necessary

• Collaborate with NPs and interdisciplinary teams to create and implement care plans for patients with intricate medical needs

• Provide clinical education and mentorship to NPs and the healthcare team

• Promote high-quality, evidence-based patient care through consultation and delegation

• Enhance access to primary healthcare services in Oxford County, particularly for vulnerable populations

• Advocate for patients’ healthcare needs and connect with community resources

• Engage in quality improvement initiatives aimed at patient care, clinic efficiency, team performance, and healthcare outcomes

• Contribute to clinical protocols, guidelines, medical directives, and standards of care

• Monitor and evaluate patient care protocols and provide feedback for ongoing improvement

• Work remotely supporting Oxford County MRP Nurse Practitioners

• Attend occasional meetings, training sessions, or community outreach events as required

⛳️ Requirements

• Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized medical institution

• Current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) in good standing

• Active membership in good standing with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)

• A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a primary care environment

• Experience with vulnerable and marginalized populations, including addiction management, is preferred

• Experience in a multi-disciplinary setting is preferred

• Strong clinical and diagnostic abilities

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork capabilities

• Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice

• Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and healthcare coordination/messaging systems

• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities

• Capability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team

• Cultural competence and sensitivity when dealing with diverse patient populations

• Dedication to patient-centered care and health promotion

• Successful completion of a criminal background check and medical screening

• Social Insurance Number and, in certain cases, a valid work permit required for eligibility to apply
