Facilities Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Direct all activities related to facility maintenance, repair, and infrastructure.

• Oversee preventive maintenance programs for forklifts, compressors, HVAC systems, cranes, ventilation systems, and utility assets.

• Manage repairs and maintenance for buildings, grounds, parking, both interior and exterior, as well as infrastructure.

• Ensure that inspections, testing, certifications, and record retention for critical facility systems are conducted.

• Lead initiatives for facility improvements, upgrades, renovations, expansions, and modifications.

• Manage external service providers, including contracts, budgets, and performance evaluations.

• Oversee the procurement and inventory of facility supplies, safety equipment, and workplace products.

• Maintain employee services, emergency equipment, machine shop resources, and workplace amenities.

• Support capital and development projects from the planning phase through to implementation.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing on equipment layouts and facility integration.

• Manage project timelines, contractors, equipment acceptance, startup, and operational handoff processes.

• Coordinate the installation, commissioning, modification, and upgrades of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, controls, and HMI systems.

• Provide technical support during startup, validation, debugging, and ongoing operational activities.

• Analyze equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective measures.

• Provide plant-wide technical support for manufacturing equipment and facility systems.

• Drive reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians and facility personnel.

• Establish priorities, allocate resources, and monitor performance metrics.

• Engage in workforce planning, training, succession planning, and employee development.

• Advocate for plant safety and ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and company policies.

• Support 5S methodologies, continuous improvement, operational excellence, emergency preparedness, and business continuity efforts.

• Coordinate emergency response, facility readiness, and logistics for company events.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in industrial facility maintenance within the automotive or manufacturing sectors.

• Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical distribution, compressed air systems, hydraulics, controls, robotics, and facility infrastructure.

• Proven experience in managing capital projects, contractors, and maintenance budgets.

• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout requirements, NFPA standards, and safety practices within facilities.
